The May issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine will reveal on Wednesday that Matcha Hazuki (One Week Friends) will launch a new manga series titled Boku ga Boku de Aru Tame ni (For Me to Remain Myself) in the magazine this fall.
The magazine teases the plot:
Can I even say in a few words what kind of person I am? Growing up and becoming an adult feels like holding a secret close to your chest. But, you're who you are. I am who I am. Where do you judge people?
Smaller text in the preview tease lines of dialogue:
"I put on a good face for everyone else."
"I at least felt it was a familiar feeling."
"It'd be great if we got along forever, right?"
"Lovers? I'm not sure that's what I'd call our relationship..."
"I'll be waiting for you."
Hazuki launched her One Week Friends manga in the Gangan Joker magazine in 2012, and ended it in January. The manga was adapted into a television anime series, which premiered in April last year. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
Atari Katagiri also launched a remake of Matcha Hazuki's debut manga Kimi to Kami Hikōki to (You, a Paper Airplane, and...) last year. The remake is titled Kimi to Kami Hikōki to Meguri (You, a Paper Airplane, and Spinning).
