Inio Asano Designs Characters for K-Swiss Shoes Short

The Asian branch of sneaker company K-Swiss began streaming an animated promotional video on Friday with character designs by manga artist Inio Asano (Oyasumi Punpun, Nijigahara Holograph, Solanin). The English-subtitled video, titled "White Fantasy," is the final installment of K-Swiss' video series "All White Project," which celebrates the theme of "heritage."
The video tells a fantasy story about an 17-year-old boy named "Kei," a girl named "Su," and a mysterious creature named "Wis."
The short's director Rabbit Machine and creative director 2Boy co-wrote the story. Carpainter composed the music.
The company released a new video every month between June and November. "White Fantasy" is the only animated commercial.
Asano ended his Oyasumi Punpun manga series in November 2013, and put his current series Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction on hiatus this month. Viz Media has published Asano's previous series Solanin and What a wonderful world!, and Fantagraphics Books published Asano's horror manga Nijigahara Holograph.
