Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Ship 7.7 Million Globally

The Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Nintendo 3DS games have shipped (as opposed to sold) over 7.7 million copies worldwide. In Europe, it went on sale on November 28 and set the record for most first-week sales among 3DS games, selling at 135% the pace of 2013's Pokémon X and Y.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire were released on November 21 in Japan, North America, and Australia. They sold 3.04 million copies worldwide in three days after November 21, including over 1.5 million in Japan alone. The games combined hold the first-week sales record in Japan in 2014 so far. (This total does not include sales from Europe.)

The new titles remake the 2003 Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. Those earlier titles sold 16.22 million worldwide, as of September 30.

Pokémon X and Y's cumulative worldwide sales total stands at 13.29 million, as of September 30.
