Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Sells Over 1 Million in Japan

4th 3DS title to sell 1 million in 1st week, after Monster Hunter 4, Pokémon X/Y, Yo-kai Watch 2
Nintendo announced on Tuesday that its Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game sold over one million copies in Japan alone since Saturday. The total includes copies sold via download.
It is the fourth title on the Nintendo 3DS platform to sell over one million copies in its first week, after Monster Hunter 4, Pokémon X/Y, and Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso/Honke. Nintendo shipped just over one million packaged retail copies as of last weekend, and it will keep shipping more copies as needed this week and beyond. The Nintendo 3DS has sold 16 million units in Japan.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS — the first game in the franchise for a portable system - will debut in North America and Europe on October 3.
