Original Resident Evil Remastered for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC

The official Resident Evil YouTube channel began streaming an announcement from CAPCOM Japan producers Tatsuya Kitabayashi and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi on Tuesday. The producers confirmed an HD remaster of the original Resident Evil will be made for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The remaster will debut digitally in Europe and North America in early 2015.
Hirabayashi said "the aim with this remaster is to bring back the original experience of [Resident Evil] in HD. The tempo and flow of the original game are an inherent part of its scary atmosphere, so we have made the decision not to disrupt this tempo."
The original Resident Evil survival horror game debuted in 1996 on the PlayStation. A remake then appeared on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. The most recent installment in the franchise, Resident Evil 6, was released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
