Wii Mini Heads to U.S. in Mid-November

posted on by Egan Loo

Nintendo confirmed on Monday that it will release the Wii Mini console in the United States in mid-November for US$99. It will come with a Wii Remote, a Nunchuck, and the game Mario Kart.

The scaled-down entertainment system was released in Canada for the holiday season last year, and then released in Europe early this year. The smaller, red Wii Mini does not play GameCube titles and does not support online net access.

Nintendo has ended production of its original Wii game console after seven years and over 100 million units shipped worldwide. Nintendo's public relations noted that the Wii U console can play current and future Wii software, and the Wii Mini can also play most Wii titles.
