The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Sayaka Mogi's horror manga Pupa updated on Wednesday with additional cast, a key visual, and a 30-second commercial.
Joining the cast are Nobunaga Shimazaki (Silver Spoon's Shinnosuke Aikawa, Date A Live's as Shido Itsuka) as Utsutsu Hasegawa, Kōji Yusa (Zetman's Seiji Haitani, Blue Exorcist's Renzō Shima) as Shirō Onijima, and Kyōko Narumi (Teekyū's as Nasuno Takamiya) as Maria. 15-year-old Ibuki Kido will play the lead female role of Yume Hasegawa.
The tale of "ultimate sibling love" follows the younger sister Yume Hasegawa who turns into a monster, and her elder brother Utsutsu who will become her food.
Tomomi Mochizuki (House of Five Leaves, Ocean Waves, Here Is Greenwood, Twin Spica) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN (When They Cry - Higurashi, Rozen Maiden, Hetalia). Maki Fujii (UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, 07-Ghost, Shattered Angels, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden) is in charge of character designs. The anime will premiere on television this fall. The manga's fourth collected volume will be released in Japan on September 12.
