Yui Horie Sings Golden Time Anime's Theme Songs
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
According to an advertisement published in this month's anime magazines on Tuesday, voice actress and singer Yui Horie will perform the opening and ending themes for Golden Time, the Fall anime inspired by a light novel series from Toradora! author Yuyuko Takemiya. The ad also revealed that the series will premiere on MBS television stations on October 3.
Horie is also voicing the series' lead female character, Kōko Kaga. She previously performed theme songs for Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, and Toradora!
GENCO is producing the series with J.C.STAFF handling the animation. Chiaki Kon (Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist, When They Cry - Higurashi) is directing the series, while Fumihiko Shimo (Fate/stay night) will be in charge of the series scripts. Shinya Hasegawa (Revolutionary Girl Utena) is designing the characters. Jin Aketagawa (Code Geass: Akito the Exiled) is the sound director at Magic Capsule, and Yukari Hashimoto (Toradora!) is composing the music.
The school romantic comedy of Golden Time revolves around Banri Tada, a college student who lost all of his memories upon graduating high school. The story follows Banri, Kōko Kaga (a girl whose seemingly perfect looks belies her hidden regrets), Kōko's significant other Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and other students at Banri's college in Tokyo.
Takemiya launched the novel series in 2010, and ASCII Media Works published the sixth main volume in July. The first five main volumes and two spinoff volumes have 710,000 copies in print. Eeiji Komatsu illustrates the novel volumes, while Umechazuke has been serializing a manga adaptation in ASCII Media Works' Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine since 2011. Takemiya's Toradora! light novel series also inspired an anime.
