Tough/Riki-Oh's Saruwatari Ends Gokusai Manga This Week
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
This year's 34th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Tetsuya Saruwatari is ending his Gokusai manga in the next issue on August 1. The fourth and final compiled volume goes on sale in Japan on August 19.
Saruwatari launched the series last year. The story follows a young, worried artist named Lilo Yutō. When Lilo meets a "dangerous" 19-year-old artist named Jō Karaba, her view of art changes dramatically.
Saruwatari is currently running his wrestling manga Lock Up in Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine. He ended his Tough manga last year with a total of 39 compiled volumes. The manga inspired the original video anime Shootfighter Tekken in 2004. Saruwatari is also the artist for the Riki-Oh manga that inspired two video anime and a live-action film.
