Creamy Mami DVD Release Crowdfunding Reaches Goal
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Anime Sols reached its crowdfunding goal of US$19,000 on Saturday for the North American DVD release of the Magical Angel Creamy Mami magical girl anime. The fundraiser reached its goal within 14 hours of the deadline.
As of press time, Ninja Robot Tobikage and Black Jack are also still funding.
Anime Sols launched in May with a starting lineup that also included the original Yatterman televison anime, Osamu Tezuka's Blue Blink television anime and Marine Express, Fumoon, and Bander Book films, and Tekkaman, the Space Knight.
Japan's Yomiuri Group announced this crowdsourcing venture with anime studios Pierrot, Tezuka Productions, and Tatsunoko Productions in November.
Update: The titles that did not meet their crowdfunding goals will continue to be streamed until Anime Sols launches new titles in a few weeks. People can continue to sign up for pledges and additional support sets for Creamy Mami until its deadline. Anime Sols plans to release the DVDs in three months, and it also aims to release DVDs to retail customers who did not make pledges, no matter which country they are from. New Yatterman did not meet its crowdfunding goal. Thanks, Daniel Zelter and ShanaFan852
