Nicktoons Adds the Rest of Yu-Gi-Oh!
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Nickelodeon's sister television station Nicktoons reached an agreement with Konami Digital Entertainment's 4K Media to run more from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime franchise. The station picked up broadcast rights to Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, and the second season of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. The station began airing Yu-Gi-Oh! and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal last month.
"We are proud and excited to work with Nicktoons," 4Ki Media senior vice president Kristen Gray said. "The Yu-Gi-Oh! brand fits very nicely within the Nicktoons programming profile. Children all across the U.S. will now have a new broadcast platform to catch their favorite episodes and engage with the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, especially those featured in the newest series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal."
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's previously aired on Cartoon Network's Miguzi, CW's CW4Kids (later Toonzai), and Fox Network's 4Kids TV programming blocks.
The station dropped Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball GT from its line-up last week.
