posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The official website for the anime adaptation of Shiratori Shirow and illustrator Kippu's No-Rin romantic comedy light novel series has revealed the anime's main cast. The cast remains unchanged from the drama CD version:
- Shintarō Asanuma as Kōsaku Hata
- Yukari Tamura as Ringo Kinoshita
- Kana Hanazawa as minori Nakazawa
- Wataru Hatano as Kei Kamatori
- Marina Inoue as Kochō Yoshida
- Chiwa Saitō as Natsumi Betsuki
- Emiri Katō as Young Master
The light novels center on the students at the Tamo Agricultural High School (Tamo Nōrin Kōkō, shortened to No-Rin). Kōsaku Hata is a student there and is something of an idol otaku. The newest transfer student happens to be the super-popular idol Yuka Kusakabe who Kōsaku adores. The school also has a childhood friend with a local dialect, a bishōnen with glasses, a cute animal mascot, a girl with large breasts, a female teacher prone to flight of fancy, and more.
SoftBank Creative is releasing the sixth light novel under its GA Bunko line on April 16. Shirow and Maru Asakura (Double-J, Pochi) launched a manga adaptation of the light novels in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine last year, and Square Enix published the second compiled volume in December. Haco Matsuura is collaborating on the manga's scripts.
Frontier Works had previously registered the Internet domain name No-Rin.tv earlier this month. Young Gangan had noted also that there would be an "important announcement" regarding Shiratori's light novel series in the magazine's next issue on April 5.
