posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Asahi Shimbun published the last issue of its Nemuki shōjo manga magazine on Thursday.
Asahi Shimbun will publish a special edition magazine titled "Nemurenu Yoru no Kimyō na Hanashi" on February 13 containing one-shot stories from works published in Nemuki. The company will then launch a new magazine in April, and will announce the name of the new magazine in "Nemurenu Yoru no Kimyō na Hanashi."
The new magazine will handle publication of the following series that were previously published in Nemuki: Ichiko Ima's Hyakkiyakoushou/Beyond Twilight, Akiko Hatsu's Uryūdō Yumebanashi, Udō Shinohara's 1/4×1/2(R), Nariko Enomoto's Jikan no Arukikata, Hisae Iwaoka's Hoshigahara Aomanjū no Mori, and TONO's Coral: Tenohira no Umi, among others.
Asahi Sonorama originally launched Nemuki in 1990 as a special Halloween issue under the name Nemurenu Yoru no Kimyō na Hanashi. The name changed to Nemuki in 1996, and then Asahi Shimbun took over publication in 2007 when Asahi Sonorama went out of business.
