Perfect Day for Love Letters' Asakura Launches New Manga
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
George Asakura (A Perfect Day for Love Letters, Knock Your Heart Out!) launched the Fūfu Safari (Couple's Safari) manga in the August issue of Shodensha's Feel Young magazine on Friday. Shodensha will publish the manga's second chapter in the magazine's January 2013 issue on December 8.
In the story, a manga artist unexpectedly marries his female editor. The manga artist had been plagiarizing another person's work, and the editor had proposed to him "if you don't want to be found out, then marry me." The couple travels to Africa on their honeymoon.
Asakura is also currently drawing the Oboreru Knife manga, which returned in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend anthology after a 14-month hiatus in May. Kodansha will release the manga's 13th volume on Friday. Asakura had started the series in 2004 and it inspired a one-shot spin-off manga Oboreru Knife: Yūgyo no Shizuku Iwa no Yume in January.
Del Rey published Asakawa's two-volume series A Perfect Day for Love Letters in English in 2005.
