Man Arrested for Selling Devices for Running DS Game Copies

Nintendo reported that police from Aichi Prefecture arrested a 39-year-old self-employed man on Wednesday, on suspicion of selling devices that bypassed restrictions on running unauthorized copies on game systems.
The suspect from Saitama Prefecture's Misato City allegedly sold Nintendo DS majikon — devices that bypassed security measures on game systems — to three customers online between February 14 and March 9 for a total of 7,200 yen (about US$91). According to the police, the suspect admitted to violating Japan's Unfair Competition Prevention Act. This is Japan's first arrest under this act for selling Nintendo DS majikon.
