Tight-rope Boys-Love Manga Gets 2-Part Video Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
A two-volume original video anime adaptation of Isaku Natsume's 2008 Tight-rope boys-love manga has been green-lit. The story follows two childhood friends, Ryūnosuke and Naoki. Ryūnosuke is the heir to a crime family, but Ryūnosuke fell in love with Naoki and would rather spend every day with him. Just before his high school graduation, Ryūnosuke suddenly renounces any claim to his family legacy.
Shinshokan's Dear+ Comics imprint published the Tight-rope manga in one volume with "Dōshiyō mo Nai Karedo Returns" (a bonus story for another Natsume manga title) in 2008. Prime Time + is producing the anime project, and Natsume is personally illustrating the jacket covers.
Digital Manga released Natsume's earlier Dash! manga in North America in 2007, and the JManga website began offering the manga online last November. Prime Time released the boys-love video anime adaptations of Fusanosuke Inariya's Hyakujitsu no Bara (Maiden Rose), Kaori Monchi's Seito Kaichō ni Chūkoku (Hey! Class President), Ayano Yamane's Ikoku Irokoi Romantan (A Foreign Love Affair), and Ryō Takagi's Kirepapa.
