posted on by Egan Loo
Bandai Visual representative Yūji Hiraoka confirmed on Saturday that the Kyōkai Senjō no Horizon (Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere) television anime series will only have Blu-ray Discs at retail. There will be no retail DVD releases, although a DVD version will be offered to rental shops.
The first Blu-ray Disc volume will ship on December 22, but rental shops will have to wait until January until they can rent out the DVD version. The limited edition of the first Blu-ray volume will bundle the novel Genesis Series: Kyōkai Senjō no Horizon Kimi to Asa Made I by original author Minoru Kawakami.
Kawakami's school fantasy light novel series is set in a distant future when Japan is divided into feudal territories and conquered by other countries. There is a floating city named Musashi that is composed of eight ships in the skies. A war that will determine the fate of the world will be fought by students on the Musashi. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 1.
