Arrietty U.K. box-office

Studio Ghibli's film earns £76,000 from 61 U.K. screens.
The Guardian newspaper website includes a brief comment on Arrietty's box-office performance in the U.K. over the last week:
Studio Ghibli's Arrietty provided an upscale alternative to the mainstream family films on release, but has so far failed to excite the core middle-class audience with a mild £76,000 from 61 screens, including £7,000 in previews. Arrietty was afforded a relatively modest berth after Ghibli's Ponyo belly-flopped in February 2010 with a debut of £155,000 from a too-ambitious 221 screens.
According to the Boxoffice Mojo website, Arrietty's biggest cinema earnings outside Japan were in France, where the film earned just over US$1.4 million on its first weekend (around UK£850,000) from 205 screens, and a six-week total of just over US$7 million (around UK£4.2 million).
In Japan, Arrietty earned a total of US$110 million (around UK£67 million).
