Isshoni Sleeping with Hinako Adds Global Android App
posted on by Egan Loo
An app version of the Isshoni Sleeping: Sleeping with Hinako video anime launched internationally on the Android Marketplace for mobile devices on Monday. Since the Isshoni Sleeping: Sleeping with Hinako DVD anime itself has not been licensed in North America, this is the first official North American release of the project in any venue.
The original "pleasant sleeping and alarm clock anime" revolves around a 16-year-old girl named Hinako who was once human — until she was transformed into an anime character when she was in middle school. After debuting Hinako in a exercise video, the studio Primastea created Sleeping with Hinako to ostensibly help users sleep by showing Hinako dozing off.
The app version of the anime contains the same footage as the DVD version, but it adds menu options to customize how long the footage should play. Similar to the Android app for the earlier Isshoni Training: Training with Hinako anime, the dialogue in both the Japanese and English version of Sleeping with Hinako remains in Japanese. The app was developed for 720x480 touch displays, and it costs 945 yen (about $11.67).
Primastea also announced on Monday that it began selling the "Hinako & Hiyoko
026" poster. ("026" is pronounced "Ofuro" or "bath.") The computer security firm Symantec reported earlier this month that the pirated version of the Isshoni Training: Training with Hinako anime's Android app contained a virus, but Primastea assured customers that the official version does not contain a virus.
