Bakemonogatari Vol. 5 Blu-ray Sells 46,000 in 1st Week

Latest volume trails only 4th volume, Eva 1.11 in first-week anime BD sales
The Oricon survey firm reports that the fifth volume of the Bakemonogatari anime series topped the weekly Blu-ray Disc chart with 46,000 copies in its first week. The fifth Bakemonogatari volume trails only the fourth volume (48,000 copies) and the Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone film (49,000 copies) as the top-selling anime Blu-ray release in the first week of sales.
The first three Bakemonogatari volumes sold 29,000, 39,000, and 41,000 copies, respectively.
