One Piece Opening Anime Made for Hey! Spring of Trivia
posted on by Egan Loo
The Hey! Spring of Trivia (Trivia no Izumi or literally, "The Fountain of Trivia") variety program is returning to Japan after 27 months with a February 27 television special and an newly-animated opening sequence. The opening animation will feature the main character Luffy from The One Piece pirate anime, as a special collaboration between these two sibling shows on the Fuji TV network. The "Trivia Family" hosts Tamori, Katsumi Takahashi (Brave Story), and Norito Yashima (Boys Over Flowers, Rurouni Kenshin) will be animated alongside Luffy.
Trivia no Izumi first ran from 2002 to 2003, but it has not been on the air since a special aired in November of 2007. Several episodes of Hey! Spring of Trivia ran on the American network Spike TV in 2004 and 2005. The program is famous for having the judges rate each piece of trivia by punching a button that emits a loud "Hē!" ("Wow!") multiple times.
