Mayoi Neko Overrun! Light Novels Get Anime, Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
The website of the Animate retail store chain has revealed that an anime adaptation of Tomohiro Matsu and Peco's Mayoi Neko Overrun! (Stray Cats Overrun!) romantic comedy light novels has been green-lit. A message from the editorial department of Shueisha's Super Dash Bunko imprint has also revealed that a manga adaptation of the light novels has been green-lit for Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.
The story revolves around Takumi Tsuzuki, a boy who lives with his older "sister" Otome, although the two have no blood ties between them. Otome manages a run-down confectionary store called Stray Cats. One day, Otome picks up a mysterious beautiful girl off the streets.
Six light novels volumes have been written since 2008, and Animate will ship the seventh volume on November 25 with an exclusive illustrated message, drawn by Peco, that revealed the anime adaptation.
