Sora no Manimani Manga Reportedly to Get TV Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The Moon Phase Comments blog reports that the April issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine will announce on Wednesday that Mami Kashiwabara's Sora no Manimani school romantic comedy manga will have a television anime. The production is said to be green-lit for this summer. Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama, School Rumble) will reportedly direct the animators at Studio Comet. Hajime Watanabe (Hime-chan's Ribbon, Kodocha, School Rumble) will create the character designs and supervise the animation production. The website for the project will open on Wednesday.
In the story, Saku Ōyagi is a quiet bookworm who moves back his former hometown as a high school freshman. He meets his childhood friend, Mihoshi Akeno, again, although a traumatic incident long ago had left their relationship in an awkward state of dread and high tension. However, Mihoshi brings Saku into the astronomy club she founded, and this sets the stage for the slapstick romantic comedy that ensues.
