Zettai Shougeki ~Platonic Heart~ Video Anime Green-Lit
posted on by Egan Loo
The Zettai Shōgeki - Platonic Heart original video anime series has been officially green-lit and announced with its website's launch on Monday. The project showcases the bishōjo character designs of adult game illustrator Jin Happōbi (Boin). The story centers on the Platonic Heart, a jewel that — according to an old urban legend — can grant any wish when collected. Only a chosen few are allowed to compete in the Platonic Heart hunt, and high school junior Aya Iseshima (pictured at right) is one of 11 girls and women who are taking part. Kaori Nazuka (Eureka Seven's Eureka, True Tears' Hiromi) plays Aya.
Shochiku will ship the first volume of the video anime series in Japan on October 25. Atsushi Kuragami (Debiru Naebiru) will begin serializing a manga version in Futabasha's Comic High! magazine on August 22. The first previews of the project came in the form of unusual blog parts (miniature applets for blogs) that focused on the female characters' bodies below the face. The 10 collaborating companies — which include Aristocrat Technologies, Shochiku, Dorasu, Lantis, Futabasha, Cospa, Jin Kikaku, Yamato, and Artpresto — plan to expand the project with a website for mobile devices, music CDs, character goods, figures, and UMD software.
