Yaoi Jamboree Hosts Aoi Futaba, Kurenai Mitsuba
posted on by Egan Loo
The Yaoi Jamboree convention has announced today that the boys-love manga artists Aoi Futaba and Kurenai Mitsuba will attend its inaugural June 20-22 event in Phoenix, Arizona. The two artists created several boys-love titles such as Contract Mistress, Secret Disk Trial Version, and Level C — the latter of which was made into an animated video. The creators' names above (written as Futaba Aoi and Mituba Kurenai on their official website) are actually pen names. Under the names Masaki Sano and Kyo Watanabe, the two created the manga adaptations of the Fire Emblem role-playing games and other works.
Media Blasters released the Level C manga in North America, and the company's Kitty Media label has licensed the anime version. Media Blasters was not directly involved with the invitation of the two guests to the convention, but it will be participating in the convention.
Yaoi Jamboree will also be holding a charity auction for 1 Voice, the community center in Phoenix for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, and giving away free passes to the convention at the Phoenix Pride parade on April 12.
