posted on by Egan Loo
To mark the tenth anniversary of the Pokémon movies, Yokohama Doll Museum in Japan is holding a Pokémon Collection exhibit which will feature a 400-monster diorama from July 14 to September 2. As of the current Pokémon - Diamond and Pearl generation, there are 493 Pokémon variants. The exhibit features a history of the previous nine films, as presented by memorabilia, photographs, and a miniature theater showing trailers and clips. The centerpiece is a 400-piece Monster Collection diorama of the various Pokémon. There is also a Pokémon shop of exclusive items and five stations to collect Pokémon stamps.
The museum president Kōji Ishizaka is a famous actor and writer who voices the title character Darkrai in Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl: Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai, which also opens on July 14. The movie has already earned over 2 billion yen (about US$16 million) before it even opened, thanks to over 2 million pre-sale tickets. The pre-sale tickets include an exclusive Deoxys monster transfer, and all movie attendees can transfer the Darkrai character to their game's saved data at the theater via the Wi-Fi feature of the Nintendo DS. The movie also features the world-famous singer Sarah Brightman performing the theme song "Be With You: Itsumo Soba ni" (Always by Your Side).
