posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
Ghibli Museum Library, the foreign animation label of Studio Ghibli, has announced the dates for its next four DVD releases and its next theatrical release. The Ghibli Museum Library label has already released Paul Grimault's Le Roi et L'Oiseau (The King and the Mockingbird) on DVD on April 4.
Buena Vista Home Entertainment will release four films under this label on DVD on July 18. The first of these will be Aleksandr Petrov's Moya Lyubov (My Love), which opened in Japanese theaters on March 17. It will be joined by Ghibli Museum Library-labeled reissues of Sylvain Chomet's Les Triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville) and Michel Ocelot's Kirikou et la Sorcière and Princes et Princesses.
To celebrate their release, Buena Vista will pack a 15-minute premium DVD with these DVDs. The DVD, tentatively titled "The Story of the Birth of the Mitaka Forest Ghibli Musuem Library," will have previously unreleased footage about these films and how Ghibli chose them for this collection.
The label's second theatrical feature, Azur et Asmar, which was also directed by Ocelot, will open in theaters on July 21.
