Tachiguishi Retsuden North American Premiere

Mamoru Oshii's Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters will be screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) on Thursday, September 28th at 10:00 pm. Other screening times are available here.
VIFF, which has established a reputation as the largest festival for Asian Films outside of Asia (Vancouver has North America's second largest Asian population, according to the 2001 census 30% of the city's population is of Asian ethnicity, the 2006 census is expected to show an even higher percentage) is held September 28 - October 13, 2006 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In addition to Tachiguishi Retsuden, VIFF will be screening a number of Japanese movies, the full list of which can be seen here and here Among the selection of Japanese movies is an 85-minute presentation of "Alternative Anime" from Japan and Korea entitled "Alternative Anime: Crossing Borders.
