From the press release:
Limelight Media, producers of Anime In the Limelight, a Japanese Animation (Anime) music show carried on KUMU AM 1500 (Honolulu), announced plans for a two week sixth birthday celebration August 23rd and 30th, 2003. Each half hour program will be specially crafted to showcase the long running show's history, and to thank listeners for their support. Suggestions and requests can be directed to: [email protected]. Webcasts will be provided by Internet radio station Japan-a-Radio and AitL's homepage.
"We want to get as many listener suggestions as possible," said William "Doc" Grant, Limelight Media's Sales VP,. "It's THEIR show. Our roots came from our listeners, and the help they gave us in the early years; like the word of mouth to other otaku, the email's they sent to Viz and others to encourage them let us play tracks before we got our ASCAP License, that's powerful. We strive to keep those qualities that set us apart, and earn that support daily."
"Now, even with 50, 000 listeners a month on our radio and web portals, we need their support more than ever." said Grant. "Limelight Media has been hit by the same downturn the rest of the radio industry has seen since the Iraq war began, but we are committed to continue to run and syndicate the show both nationally and worldwide and broaden our genres listener base. Without them, we're nothing."
