Initial D Car at AX
posted on by Christopher Macdonald
Over the past year or so Bandai's Jerry Chu has been hard at work on a Toyota Corolla / Trueno conversion creating a car very similar to the one from Initial D (The Trueno is the Japanese Sport model of the Corolla, featuring a more powerful engine). The Sprinter Trueno was first introduced in 1972, but the AE86 model in question was introduced in 1983.
Jerry has graciously allowed Tokyopop to show the car off as an Initial D attraction at Anime Expo. Jerry wasn't able to get us any pictures of the car for press time (we'll bring some back from AX) but he did supply us with a brief run-down on the car:
1986 Corolla GTS
"Panda" Trueno Scheme
Trueno Front/Rear Bumpers (JDM)
20 Valve 4AG "Silver Top" Engine Swap (AE101)
TRD Custom Header
TRD Bushing Kit
TRD Short Shift Kid
TRD Lowering Suspension (JDM)
Biltstein Shocks
Nology Wires
5Zigen Exhaust
K&N Air Filter
RAZO Pedals/Shift Knob
SPARCO Corsa Racing Seats
SPARCO 3" 5 pt racing seat belts
Limited Slip Differential
Carbon Fiber Hood
RS Watanabe Rims 14x7
