Kare Kano Opens Vote for Best Anime Episode

It's been 20 years since Gainax's His and Her Circumstances (Kare Kano) premiered on television. The 26-episode adaptation of Masami Tsuda is both loved for its complex characters and infamous for his production issues. Now, after two decades, the anime will be released on Blu-ray Disc in Japan on March 27.
Staff are promoting the release with a Twitter campaign to poll fans' favorite episodes. Twitter users can use the hashtag "#アニメ彼氏彼女の事情ベストACT" (Anime Kareshi Kanojo no Jijō Best ACT) to enter their choice into the poll before March 22. The results will be announced later in a special feature on Comic Natalie. The Blu-ray box release website has episode synopses available for reference.
Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno directed His and Her Circumstances alongside then animator and now Trigger director Hiroyuki Imaishi, Evangelion and SSSS.Gridman composer Shiro Sagisu, and producers Yuki Satō and Yuji Matsukura. The box set bundles a booklet filled with interviews with the staff and an HD-conversion of the original anime onto five discs.
