God of War Art Director Draws Realistic Super Smash Bros. Characters

Raf Grassetti, art director of 2019's Game of the Year God of War, has been posting his own renditions of the characters on the Super Smash Bros. roster on his Instagram lately. So far, he has drawn Kirby, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool, Yoshi, Ridley, Pikachu, Megaman, Mewtwo, Sonic, Bowser, Fox, Link, and Samus.
There's been a wave of "hyper-realistic" interpretations of cartoon and video game characters lately. How does Grassetti's rendition of Sonic the Hedgehog compare to the "buff" Sonic in Paramount Pictures' upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film?
Or how about Grassetti's version of Pikachu? Much like the live-action Detective Pikachu film, Grassetti's Pikachu is rather furry.
Grassetti has commented on his posts that he's been enjoying his recent deep dive into Smash Bros. fan art. His first Smash Bros. upload, a drawing of Samus in her suit, was on January 4, and his most recent upload was a drawing of Kirby on Tuesday.
