Universal Studios Japan's Hotel Offers Switch-Themed Horror Room
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Universal Studios Japan's Hotel Universal Port in Osaka is bringing on some scary times for guests this fall. The new "Switches" room is the hotel's fourth in a series of horror-themed accommodations.
The hotel's newest horror-themed room will be available from September 1 to December 20, and guests must be at least 15 years old to stay. Only one of the special rooms is available, and the hotel began accepting reservations on August 9. The room can accommodate up to four people, and a one-night stay will cost 9,500 yen (about US$85) per person (breakfast included).
The room's creepy accoutrements will include worn-out curtains and an eerie chest. The room, which was supposedly set to be put out of use, will have various switches. The room will have one "Horror Switch" that will open the door to a world of fear for guests. The hotel is keeping the details of this year's scares under wraps, so guests will have plenty of unsettling surprises in store.
A YouTube user posted a video last September that gives a detailed look at what last year's horror-themed room was like.
