posted on by Karen Ressler
Kana Ozawa's Blue Thermal -Aonagi Daigaku Taiiku-kai Kōkū-bu- (Aonagi College Sports Festival Aviation Club) manga is inspiring a 12-minute virtual reality film that will debut in early July. It will be available on the VR portal app VR Cruise and the store-based virtual reality service VR Theater.
The film is titled Blue Thermal VR -Hajimari no Sora-, and will adapt a story from the manga's first volume. Shinichirō Ueda is directing and writing the script. It will star Karin Ono, Atom Mizuishi, and Taketo Tanaka (all three pictured above).
The film will be on display at the Le Marché du Film trade market at Cannes. The presentation will include a mock glider to simulate the physical experience of flying a glider.
The manga, which follows a college glider club, launched in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch in 2015. The first part ended with the fifth compiled volume, which shipped in February.
