Hakusensha Uses A.I. Software to Color 2 Manga Titles
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Manga software developer Taizan unveiled his PaintsChainer automatic coloring software early last year and Twitter users and ANN's own artists in the forums had fun testing out the artificial intelligence software's capabilities. Since then, PaintsChainer has made some improvements, in fact the quality has improved so much that publisher Hakusensha is using it to create color versions of its manga.
Hakusensha is offering a color version of Akira Hagio's josei romance manga Kekkon x Renai. (pictured above). The story follows Shiho, a woman that finds herself a widow three days after her marriage to Mamoru. She takes in Mamoru's little half-brother Makoto out of obligation but nine years later, Makoto proposes to Shiho.
The publisher is also offering Asuka Sora's romance manga Watashi-tachi xx Shimashita in color. Both manga are available as e-books only for now.
