Re:Zero's Ram, Rem Celebrate Their February 2 Birthday With Store Event

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-'s best girls are getting a special event for their February 2 birthday next year. The "Re:Zero -Starting Ram and Rem's Birthday Life- 2018" event will be held at the Shibuya Marui department store in Tokyo from January 20 to February 5.
The original Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novel illustrator Shinichirou Otsuka is providing special illustrations for the event. Birthday merchandise will be available for purchase, and more details will be announced later.
People who spend at least 3,000 yen (US$26) on designated merchandise at the event will receive a special booklet written by the original light novels' author Tappei Nagatsuki. They will also receive a set of two paper coasters from January 20-26 and a mini shopping bag from January 27 to February 5. In addition, people who spend at least 3,000 yen each on two separate days will receive an event logo tin badge.
Nagatsuki launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012, and Kadokawa will publish the 15th novel in the series on December 25. The series has more than 4.3 million copies in print in Japan. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English, and is also releasing Daichi Matsuse's manga adaptation of the series, as well as the Re:Zero Ex spinoff light novel series.
The 25-episode Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime adaptation premiered in April 2016, and the novels are getting a new OVA. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll is also streaming both the Re:Zero ~Starting Break Time From Zero~ and Re:PETIT ~Starting Life in Another World from PETIT~ short anime spinoff series.
