New Evangelion Films' Rei Figure Poses in Sexy Plugsuit

Figure maker Flare is giving the Shin Evangelion films' Rei Ayanami a sexy new look. The company unveiled a Rei figure designed by illustrator Shunya Yamashita and model maker Mitsumasa Yoshizawa (Reflect).
The figure shows Rei in a unique, semi-transparent version of her plugsuit from the anime. Yoshizawa designed and colored the figure based on Yamashita's original illustration. The figure stand 240 millimeters (about 9.4 inches) tall.
The figure costs 11,800 yen (about US$107), and retailers are accepting pre-orders now. People who order the regular version of the figure will receive Rei with one face, a stand, and a postcard featuring Yamashita's illustration of Rei with the regular face. People who order from the Evangelion Store will receive both regular and smiling faces for Rei, a stand, and two postcards featuring Yamashita's illustrations of Rei with both faces.
The figure is slated to ship in October.
The Shin Evangelion anime film project revealed on Friday an image board for Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :|| drawn by art director Tatsuya Kushida. Khara, the studio behind director Hideaki Anno's new Evangelion films, confirmed in April that the next Shin Evangelion project is in production. Khara's official website also revealed in April that the studio was recruiting animators, modelers, technical staff, system engineers, and production managers.
The title for the final Evangelion film was announced back in 2012 as Evangelion Shin Gekijōban :||, or Evangelion: 3.0+1.0. The ":||" at the end of the Japanese title is meant to be the symbol used in music to denote repetition after reaching the end of a measure.
