Deku Rises as a Mighty Balloon in Tokyo Skytree Town
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Deku might lack his own "quirk" but I'd put growing to a height of 18 feet as pretty impressive. Tokyo Skytree Town is home to the super-sized character that went up on April 1. He appears at the entrance to the underground area's third floor. At first glance, it appears to be a giant statue but this superhero is actually a huge balloon.
April 1 marks the premiere of the My Hero Academia anime's second season. A total of 10,000 personality cards are also being handed out that will identify people's individual quirks, like "Explosion" (Bakugo's quirk) and "Flower Viewing." Monitors will screen the second season's first episode "Sō Iu Koto ne, Ochako-san" (So That's What It's About, Ochako!) on April 1.
The series will premiere in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Hulu on Saturday, and FunimationNow will stream the English dub. The first six dubbed episodes will launch on the same days they air in Japan.
The anime's first season of 13 episodes premiered on the MBS /TBS channel last April. Funimation streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland as it aired in Japan. The company also streamed a broadcast dub.
Horikoshi's original manga also inspired an event anime that screened in Tokyo in November and then in four other Japanese cities in December. The anime will ship on DVD in Japan with a limited edition of the 13th volume the manga on April 4. A second OVA will ship on DVD in Japan with a limited edition of the 14th volume on June 2.
