Itasha Taxi Will Drive Comiket Goers Around in Style

A taxi company is targeting a very specific clientele at one of the largest fan gatherings the world over. The Gojo Transport service announced on Monday that it will deploy its Itasha Taxi on August 12, just in time for the Comiket 90 dōjinshi convention. The Itasha Taxi will ferry customers around the Tokyo International Exhibition Center for rates comparable to a regular taxi service.
The taxi is wrapped with an original anime character, although only on the areas of the car allowed by city ordinance. The itasha taxi featuring Puro-sei-chan was first shown at the Nico Niko Chōkaigi 2016 event at the end of April. Over 5,000 attendees visited the booth, some expressing interest in the service.
Comiket 90 is taking place over three days at Tokyo Big Sight on August 12-14.
