Madoka Magica has recently served as the inspiration for five new fashion pieces.
The popular magical girl anime is teaming up with the LIZ LISA fashion brand and the SuperGroupies store to present these new clothes.
The first piece is the rose One Piece dress, which comes in pink and brown.
This floral-heavy piece features five different colored roses (pink, purple, red, yellow and blue), one for each main character in the anime.
An antique appeal is illustrated with its bows and ribbons tied daintily around the piece.
More floral patterns can be seen on the frilly lace at the hem of the dress. This piece goes for 11,100 yen (about US$92).
The second piece in the line is the cookie ribbon One Piece dress in maroon and pink.
This formal girlish piece comes printed with ribbons as well as items from a tea set, which Mami Tomoe was known for. It also features images of a Soul Gem, the special crystal that holds the power and souls of the magical girls. It comes together with a bright criss-cross lace at the front. This dress is also 11,100 yen.
This top jumpskirt combo sees the best of two worlds.
This One Piece can become two as the top ribbon blouse is able to separate from the apron-like robe for double functionality. It comes pink and brown and printed with roses and teacups. This piece goes for 15,700 yen (about US$130).
This independent cookie ribbon skirt comes in maroon and pink.
The band of the skirt is stretchable and able to accommodate most sizes.
The ribbon motif continues into this piece, as well as the floral and Soul Gem textile combo. This skirt comes relatively cheap for 7,800 yen (about US$65).
Lastly comes the collared cardigan, available in pink and white. This fluff-like airy piece features ribbons fastened at the end of each sleeve.
However, the true appeal comes from the collar. Each lapel includes a golden flower stitched into it.
The back of the collar is the gilded-stitched phrase "Don't tell anyone in class, okay?" This is what Madoka tells Homura during their first encounter when Madoka is revealed as a magical girl in episode 10. This cardigan costs 7,400 (about US$61).
Each item is available for pre-order on SuperGroupies and are expected to release sometime in October. The site has previously offered Madoka-inspired purses and umbrellas.
Ichiban Kuji, a Japanese lottery that often gives out anime, manga, and video game-related merchandise revealed the previously announced merchandise for its witch-themed Madoka Magica lottery prizes. The "Magiccraft" lottery looks to focus on the series' Witches and has combined the villains' motifs for new character outfits in a series of "visualize boards" (similar to posters). Madoka's outfit takes cues from Kyubey, Homura's from the Nutcracker witch, Mami and Nagisa from Charlotte, and Sayaka and Kyōko from Oktavia (although the print is from alternate timeline appearances).
The prizes include:
A. Hooded Towel
B. Cushion
C-G Visualize Boards
H. Glass Jars
I. Die-Cut Pass Case
J. Handkerchief
K. Rubber Strap
"Last One" Prize: Alternate Hooded Towel
The lottery's "Double Chance" Prize is 1 of 50 special visual boards that include all the characters designs. The lottery will start on September 26.
