Women's Magazine Offers Tōken Ranbu Sword-Based Exercise Routines
posted on by Carlos Cadorniga
The latest July issue of Japanese women's magazine chouchouAliis presents a new summer diet and weight loss plan based on a popular web browser game.
The new Katana Diet plan takes cues from Tōken Ranbu, the Japanese game in which one plays a Saniwa sage that uses their powers to bring swords to life (as attractive guys) and defeat evil forces trying to alter the course of history. Exercises from this plan utilize motions and styles from different types of weaponry—including but not limited to the uchigatana, the tantō, the wakizashi and the naginata—to shape one's waist and strengthen one's thighs.
You also don't need to be a katana expert to get into shape with these exercises. Each of the moves are demonstrated by helpful photos and are accompanied by illustrations of various characters from the game.
