Jun Fukuyama Plays Sports with Other Voice Actors in New TV Show
posted on by Eric Stimson
Veteran voice actor Jun Fukuyama (Makoto in Kuroko's Basketball, Lelouch in Code Geass) loves playing sports (and watching them too). But sadly, the life of a voice actor isn't exactly conducive to staying in shape. As he writes on his official website, "Day in and day out, I'm cooped up in a studio." What's a restless voice actor to do?
Fukuyama's solution: a TV show where he plays sports with other voice actors. Fukuyamuscle will bring famous voice actors together in sports matches both familiar and unusual. Fukuyama says he has "good reflexes and curiosity but no fundamentals or experience," while his partner on the show, Hirofumi Nojima (Kōtarō in Yowamushi Pedal, Shun in Kuroko's Basketball), is a "sportsman with many hobbies." Athletic ability is not a precondition to appear. The first episode will feature Fukuyama and Nojima playing 3x3 basketball at a Yokohama gym with Takuya Eguchi (Ryōma in Love Stage!!, Shinji in Kuroko's Basketball), Yūki Ono (Taiga in Kuroko's Basketball, Kaname in You and Me.), Keisuke Kōmoto (Shinichirō in Isuca, Kyōtarō in Tokyo ESP) and Kenji Nojima (Mamoru in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, Prince Cayenne in Lady Jewelpet).
Fukuyamuscle will air on AT-X beginning on July 3 at 8:30 p.m., as well as on BS11 beginning on July 14 at 11:30 p.m.
