Attack On Titan Voice Actors to Participate in Real Escape Game

posted on by Chris Nishijima
Real escape game based off of Attack on Titan featuring voice actors to be streamed on Nico Nico Douga.

May 3 will mark the first round of "Real Escape Game" producer SCRAP's first ever Attack on Titan escape game, titled "Escape From a Certain Fortress Town." After the first round of games at Yokohama Stadium have been completed, the event will continue on to other locations throughout Japan. Before the main event begins, however, Nico Nico Douga and SCRAP will host a special collaborative event to raise excitement for the upcoming escape game.

Titled "Escape From the Extra Large Stomach," this promotional event for the full, large-scale escape game will be streamed live on Nico Nico Douga starting April 12 at 9:00PM JST. The game will feature the appearance of a number of voice actors from Attack on Titan as guests, including Yūki Kaji, the voice of Eren Jaeger; Yui Ishikawa who voices Mikasa Ackerman; and Yū Kobayashi, the voice actress who plays Sasha Braus.

The premise of the game is that during a special live broadcast from the Nico Nico Studios, featuring the stars of Attack on Titan, a real life Titan breaks into the production department and swallows everyone it can. The guest participants thus have 15 minutes to escape from the bowels of the creature by solving the mysteries inside its stomach before they are digested.

SCRAP's full sized Attack on Titan escape game, "Escape From a Certain Fortress Town," will be held in several cities across Japan. Tickets can be purchased online for 3,000 yen (US$29.30) on pre-order and 3,500 yen (US$34.18) at the door for the following locations:

  • May 3 and 4: Yokohama, Yokohama Stadium
  • May 9 and 10: Osaka, Osaka Dome
  • May 25, June 1 and 29: Nagoya, Toyota Stadium
  • June 22: Sendai, Rakuten kobo Stadium Miyazaki
  • June 27, 28, 29: Fukuoka, Yahoo! Auction Dome
  • August 8-12 and 22-24: Tokyo, Meiji Jingu Stadium

Other anime-inspired Real Escape Games from SCRAP in the past year have included ones based off of Detective Conan as well as Death Note. SCRAP also has an American branch which holds real escape events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.
