Toyota Aqua Uses Hatsune Miku Song for TV Commercial

The Toyota Corolla may be the official car of Hatsune Miku, but that doesn't mean the company doesn't want her support for their other models, too.

Recently, Toyota has been running a new ad for the Toyota Aqua (sold in the US as the Toyota Prius c) that uses a piano arrangement of Hatsune Miku's "Senbonzakura." Originally produced by black rabbit P, the song was first published on Niconico in 2011 and has received over 6.7 million views.

The piano arrangement used in the commercial is performed by Japanese artist Marasy, whose album V-box includes piano arrangements of several Vocaloid singles, including "Senbonzakura."

Toyota asked Marasy to re-record his version of "Senbonzakura" for the ad, spending over four hours in the studio where he watched and re-watched the ad to find the most appropriate arrangement.
