Vocaloid Song Software Megpoid Inspires PSP Rhythm Game
posted on by Egan Loo
Japanese game developer ParaPhray is making a PSP rhythm game inspired by Megpoid, the Vocaloid voice synthesis software sampled from voice actress Megumi Nakajima. Megpoid the music# will have Megpoid's mascot girl Gumi dancing and singing to songs made popular on the niconico (formerly Nico Nico Douga) streaming service.
The Megpoid song "megu-megu ☆ Fire Endless Night," which has received more than one million views on niconico, will be included in the new game.
Megpoid the music# will also feature a "Gumi Room" mode that will allow players to redecorate Gumi's room and dress her up in different outfits acquired throughout the game. Vocaloid illustrators Nou and Tsukasa Ryūgū (Manbou no Ane) are in charge of Gumi's design for the game.
The game will arrive next spring for 6,090 yen (about US$78), and there will be a limited edition for 9,429 yen (US$120).
Famitsu is currently hosting five screenshots from the upcoming game.
