Japanese hobby goods maker Good Smile Company (GSC) revealed a prototype on Friday for its latest figure inspired by the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime. GSC is partnering with Medicom Toy and Max Factory to produce the Madoka Kaname character figure.
The poseable 30-centimeter (about 12-inch) figure will be the first Madoka Magica figure in the "Real Action Heroes" series. Parts of Madoka's outfit, such as the skirt ruffles and sleeves, will be made of real fabric. The figure will also include a variety of replaceable facial expression and hand parts.
Figure maker Max Factory designed the head parts based on previous Madoka figma designs. GSC noted that it assisted in the figure's production, but manufacturer Medicom Toy will release the "Real Action Heroes" Madoka.
GSC and other character goods makers began releasing various Madoka Magica figures after the television anime series premiered in January 2011.
As of May 1, the 11th anniversary of the the company's founding, GSC changed from a "limited company" ("yūgen gaisha") to a "public company" ("kabushiki gaisha").
