Good Smile Company Becomes a 'Public Company'

Japanese toy and figure maker Good Smile Company has announced through an article on its "Mikatan's Blog" that as of May 1, the 11th anniversary of the company's founding, the company has changed from a "limited company" ("yūgen gaisha") to a "public company" ("kabushiki gaisha").
According to the company's Managing Director and President Takanori Aki, this was done in order "for the company to evolve into something bigger," though there will not be any "major capital or policy changes due to this change."
