Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers Heads to 3DS with New Satelight Opening
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The video game news website Famitsu revealed on Wednesday that the video game developer Atlus is creating a port of the Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers video game for the Nintendo 3DS system.
The port will feature a new opening sequence by the animation studio Satelight (Macross Frontier, Aquarion Evol, Mōretsu Pirates, AKB0048). The game will also feature the original opening anime sequence. Famitsu is currently hosting screenshots from the new opening sequence as well as character designs.
The game will also include full voice, with Minako Kotobuki playing Hitomi and Nemissa. Other cast members include Kazuya Nakai, Daisuke Ono, Yūki Kaji, and Chiwa Saitō. As in other Megami Tensei games, the protagonist does not have a name or a voice.
The game will feature smoother animation as well as quicker loading and response times. The game revolves around the members of a hacker group called "Spookies" who fight against a huge conspiracy.
The original Devil Summoner: Soul Hacker video game was released on the Sega Saturn in 1997 and then on the PlayStation console in 1998. The original game was never released in English. Atlus will release the Nintendo 3DS port in Japan on August 30.
