Hatsune Miku Gets Pork Dumpling Twitter Bot Figures
posted on by Egan Loo
At the Amusement Expo 2012 Prize Fair next week, the game prize maker Taito will showcase its new lineup, including a crossover between the Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku and another Japanese net phenomenon, Shuumai-kun.
Shuumai-kun is a popular automated Japanese Twitter account; the "bot" mixes and matches different words from its Twitter timeline to create the Tweets that it sends to over 170,000 followers. Shuumai-kun is named after the steamed pork dumplings inspired by Chinese cuisine.
Taito is already planning to release the first Shuumai-kun game prizes — fluffy, big cushions — next month. At next week's prize fair, it will display super-deformed Hatsune Miku/Shuumai-kun crossover figures. The popular pixiv illustrator "Gozen 4-ji" designed the super-deformed figures.
Taito will also give away Guilty Crown clear files and All Purpose Rabbit stickers to people who visit its booth. (Gloomy Bear creator Mori Chack designed All Purpose Rabbit.) Other prizes that Taito plans to showcase at the fair include Guilty Crown figures (pictured left), Super Mario's Boo sensor light, Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter's Raibird RC car, All Purpose Rabbit plush toys, Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer) hugging pillows, and Inu × Boku SS cushions.
