Samurai Champloo's Nujabes Posthumous Album Released
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Hydeout Productions released the Spiritual State album with music by the late Jun 'Nujabes' Seba on Saturday. Nujabes composed the music in Manglobe's Samurai Champloo television anime series, including its "Battlecry" opening theme song, before he passed away last February.
As Nujabes' third album, the CD includes previously unreleased music from the hip-hop producer. Nujabes left behind some tracks in the studio at the time of his death, and his Hydeout Productions label planned to release those tracks on some format in the future. It remains unclear if Spiritual State incorporates all of that music.
The regular edition of the album features 14 tracks and is available for a 3,000 yen (about US$40) retail price. The Spiritual State -tribe edition- version of the CD, sold only at the tribe online shop for 5,500 yen (about US$70), includes two bonus tracks and a 7-inch record disc.
